Today, I went for a jog around my neighborhood and it was gorgeous! I really didn't realize that I was living in such a beautiful location until I actually ran down the streets and saw all of the adorable homes, palm tree lined streets, and beautiful flowers and orange trees.
While I was running, I stopped to take a few pictures (and to give myself a much needed break) to show just how wonderful this city is. On my mini journey, I passed the elementary school as it let out and saw the streets flooded with kids and their parents WALKING; not driving, home. The weather is too perfect not to walk. It was about 65 degrees today, which to the Californians is probably a bit cold, but to this New Yorker, it was just perfect. If we had a day like this back at home at this time, everyone and their mother would be outside in flip flops and shorts as if it was summer. Or if we were in Delaware, everyone would be heading to Grotto's or a day drinking party.
Beautiful flowers lined the streets and all of the homes seemed to have a summery, bright, feel to them, with colors ranging from white, light pinks, and other pastel colors.
Palm trees are EVERYWHERE in LA. It's a nice change from the bare trees that we have most of the year in NY.
Another interesting thing about Los Angeles is that everyone owns a nice car. I've seen more nice cars this past week than I have in my entire life. From Porches to Maseratis to Ferraris, I've even seen some cars that I didn't even know existed that cost 200,000+. I'll have to work on getting a nice white Range Rover like the one is this picture ASAP. It is my dream car, ya know?! I'll have to work on getting a job first.
Tomorrow I have an interview with the CAA - Creative Artist Agency, and on Friday I have a temp assignment, so I am pretty busy the next few days. I am excited for what's to come and hope that it all works out for the best. I miss everyone at home like crazy, and wish they could be experiencing LA with me!
